650 Ploggers in Kuala Lumpur

More than 650 people gathered in Klang, Selangor, to take part in a plogging activity across two neighbourhoods, combining exercise with a community‑driven effort to keep the place clean and litter‑free.

Both areas – Butterfly Park in Bukit Tinggi 2 off Persiaran Batu Nilam 1 and Padang MBDK in Jalan Selampit 29, Klang Jaya – saw residents coming out to participate in the initiative.

Organised by Tzu Chi Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Foundation, in collaboration with the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK), Bandar Botanic and Bandar Bukit Tinggi residents associations as well as the Sentosa constituency office, the morning event played a telling role in Klang’s environmental stewardship.

The plogging event involved picking up rubbish while walking, an activity that helped clear neighbourhood roads and raise awareness about waste management.

Klang mayor Datuk Abd Hamid Hussain said through community mobilisation, awareness programmes and regular cleanup drives, Tzu Chi had helped turn recycling and waste reduction into everyday habits for thousands of residents….
