Today we experienced something truly unique.
We met up with Team Nordic Trail in Björkliden & Riksgränsen, together with @andersscharp (Food & Beverage manager)
Quick Plogging warm-up in ski boots at Silverfallet, now a lot cleaner.

And yes…it turns out you can plog in ski boots.
Which means you can definitely do it without them too, just use your hands and make a difference.

We hope more tour operators follow Team Nordic Trail’s lead and start plogging with their guests.

Plogga Day with @erikahlstromsweden and @arebyturistforening (Åre Village & the Tourist Association), you can look forward to an inspiring talk about how it all began in just Åre and how the initiative has grown into a global movement.

Erik will give an approximately 20-30 minute presentation on the importance of staying physically active while taking care of our planet in a fun and motivating way.

After the talk, we’ll head out together for a plogging session. Those who want can run, while others may prefer a more relaxed walk everyone participates in their own way.
Additionally, the event will include a guided historical Plogga walking tour through Åre village, offering insights into the area’s rich history.

We’ll then finish with a group reflection, highlighting achievements such as the most collected trash, the most useful finds, the most unusual item, and the funniest discovery.

The event will conclude with a prize draw, where all participants have the chance to win great prizes generously sponsored by our partners who share our commitment to making the world a better place.

Det var ca 1000 pers som demonstrerade för miljön under Miljömarschen i Göteborg.

Vi gjorde det vi anser är enklast för miljön o vår egen hälsa, vi böjde oss ner (Ploggade upp skräpet ) och visade att vi bryr oss, vi skapade som alltid glädje och stor uppmärksamhet.

Before heading home, our founder had the chance to meet some of his biggest inspirations: Sam, Gary and the team behind Sungai Watch.

Not only did he meet them, He met them right in the middle of the action, standing in the river with plastic up to their chest while they were removing plastic.

They’re now about to start a 57-day expedition from Bali to Jakarta, running 25 km every day to raise $1M to fight plastic pollution. In just six years their organization has already removed 4.5 million kilos of plastic from nature. During these 57 days, the goal is another 1 million kilos.

"Founded by siblings Gary Bencheghib, Sam Bencheghib and Kelly Bencheghib, Sungai Watch has become one of the most impactful grassroots efforts tackling plastic pollution in Indonesia. Their mission is simple but powerful: stop plastic before it reaches the ocean.
Working primarily in Bali’s rivers, the team installs simple yet highly effective river barriers that capture plastic waste flowing downstream. Once collected, the waste is sorted, documented, and properly recycled or disposed of, creating a transparent system that tracks exactly how much plastic is being removed from the environment.

Sungai Watch collaborates closely with local communities, governments, and businesses to improve waste management systems and raise awareness about the scale of the plastic crisis. Once again, today proved how little effort it actu

Once again, today proved how little effort it actually takes to make a BIG difference.

When we visited the famous Spiderweb Rice Terraces in Flores/Indonisia we brought two Plogga bags with us. A few local kids came along to show us the way and when they saw us start plogging, they got so excited.
At first they helped a little and then they completely took over.

They cleaned the paths until they were spotless.
Afterwards they were proud, smiling, and genuinely happy. We explained why we did it, and you could literally see it click in their eyes, that this wasn’t just about trash, it was about caring for something that matters.

Imagine if every tourist did the same. It’s not hard.

Travel with purpose!

Lead by example. Encourage others.

Just bend down and pick up what doesn’t belong.

It’s hard to describe the feeling of seeing beaches covered in plastic. It can make you feel powerless.
But we believe change starts with people, conversations, education, and small actions that spread.
We’re trying to stay long, connecting with resorts, travelagents, guides, local people, schools, communities, and doing what we can.
